DESCRIPTION:I VENERDI’ DI NEURO-ONCOLOGIA\nIMMUNOTERAPIA E RADIOTERAPIA NEL TRATTAMENTO DELLE METASTASI DA NSCLC\nWebinar ECM\nDescrizione del Corso:\nIl corso è gratuito per i Soci AIRO in regola con la quota associativa 2021. \nBrain metastases (BMs) occur in 40% of patients with lung cancer. The management of BM is multimodal\, with the as- sociation of local therapies (stereotactic radiosurgery SRS\, whole-brain radiotherapy WBRT\, or surgical resection) to systemic treatments (chemotherapy\, targeted therapies\, and immunotherapy). RT remains a treatment of choice in many cases. However\, novel targeted and immune- therapies have improved CNS penetration and revealed potent intracerebral activity in patients with NSCLC with driver genes activating mutations and BM\, even without previous RT. In fact\, several retrospective trials have suggested that the combination of cerebral RT and immunotherapy provides increased intracranial local control (LC)\, but without any clear impact on overall survival. \nMany aspects remain unclear about multimodality treatment of brain metastases from NSCLC. In particular\, timing and doses of radiosurgery\, WBRT and immune and targeted therapies in both single and combined settings.
